The Italian armed forces are already familiar with the Beretta ARX-100 in the form of its military select fire counterpart, the ARX-160.
This 5.56 carbine was originally designed as part of the Soldato Futuro (“Future Soldier”) program, which makes its futuristic look fitting. This ain’t your daddy’s M16. The ARX-100 is a completely ambidextrous system, including charging handle, safety, magazine release, and even the direction of ejection can be easily swapped left or right. All you need is a 5.56×45 round (or a tool with similar point) and, presto—the casings will fly out the opposite side of the gun.
Stay tuned for the full review!
Very interesting rifle. Looks a sci-fi movie gun. Can’t wait for the review. Will be knowledgeable, interesting and funny, for sure, like always your reveiws are. 😀
I wonder how much they will retail for. Lefties are left out in the gun world.
TerrilSmoothboreHebert Right now, MSRP looks to be $1950 o.0
EricKmiecik It does look kinda sci-fi, I agree. May be part of why I dig the look of it. lol
Looking forward to the full review. I shot the Israeli Tavor and FN PS90 but not the Beretta ARX-100 (I consider myself lucky in that if I can’t test fire a friend’s a nearby range has almost anything available for rental). Something quite interesting about those “futuristic” looking firearms but wow are they expensive relatively speaking…Until I run into a boatload of money, I will be an AR/AK guy for the foreseeable future…
Pro2AGuy I’ve shot both of those as well. Can’t wait to put enough lead through the ARX-100 to compare :]
