Crime in America is reaching levels it should never have gotten to.
The two-year COVID lockdown, combined with record-high inflation and soft-on-crime policy from the left, is proving to be a deadly combination. This is especially true in blue states and large Democrat-run cities, but it’s also a fact across the country.
This includes the free state of Florida, where police are dealing with a rising amount of violent crime. This isn’t only in large cities like Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Miami; it’s also in smaller places across the state.
Now, the sheriff in Santa Rosa County is raising eyebrows after encouraging residents to shoot down burglars.
FLORIDA: Santa Rosa County Sheriff Robert Johnson, “If somebody’s breaking into your house you’re more than welcome to shoot ‘em…We prefer that you do actually…"
With that said, don’t break into homes in Santa Rosa County, FL if you don’t want to get shot. pic.twitter.com/pBybk95Q5e

Sheriff: We ‘Prefer’ You Shoot Robbers
Robert Johnson is the sheriff of Santa Rosa County.
He was speaking several days ago at a press conference about a home break-in under his jurisdiction in the town of Pace. This small city is located about an hour east of Mobile, Alabama near the state line.
Recently, Pace has had quite a problem with burglary, including the arrest of criminal Brandon Harris. This suspect tried to break into multiple homes and was eventually stopped by a resident who fired multiple rounds at him.
Harris was not injured, but was arrested and faces numerous charges relating to his robberies.
Speaking about the incident, Johnson noted the resident who shot at Harris has not come forward. He said perhaps this resident believes they are in trouble, but actually, the police would like to meet them and are happy about them trying to shoot Harris.
“We prefer” that residents try to kill robbers, in fact, Johnson said. He added the police department offers free shooting classes if the person wants to come practice and save the taxpayer’s money in the future.

‘More Than Welcome’
According to Johnson, Santa Rosa residents are “more than welcome” to shoot anyone trying to break into their home and the police would welcome it.
The comments are making waves online as leftists comment on Johnson’s rough comments.
The shooting occurred during the heat of the moment while Harris was jumping over fences and also trying to evade police who were out with numerous dogs. He escaped unharmed.
As Johnson noted, Harris has already been arrested 17 times.
This career criminal has also been robbing homes and committing crimes since he was a teen. No matter how many times he goes to jail, he just comes out and then reoffends.
Johnson’s frustration is understandable, and with crime growing across the country, his attitude about using violence to solve crime is going to become more and more common.
If Joe Biden and the Democrats won’t take crime seriously, they have to realize that the American people will.
