New York City Mayor Eric Adams rose his way up through the city’s transit system and he’s seen the dark side of the Big Apple.
This mayor may be a Democrat, but unlike many of his colleagues on the local and federal levels, Adams doesn’t have the luxury of hiding from reality.
In his ongoing quest to bring down the staggering homicide rate in his city, Adams had to crack down on illegal weapons, gangsters, and scum drug dealers in the most dangerous parts of the city.
He even formed a special squad of officers to go and bring order to the worst hellholes of the five boroughs.
Adams isn’t done yet. He’s now directly calling out the “progressive left” and its pro-crime policies.
Adams Has Had Enough of the Left’s Pro-Crime Nonsense
Speaking on a liberal news podcast on Bloomberg News, Former NYPD commissioner William Bratton said the left has gone way too far in being soft on crime. What is he talking about here?
We’ve all seen it: lowering bail to zero for poor criminals, going soft on gun crime when done by gangsters and in drive-by shootings, lessening jail sentences, and even erasing penalties for shoplifting and theft in some jurisdictions.
The results are what we are all watching with horror and disbelief: America’s big cities descending into lawless hellholes full of entitled criminals, while progressive politicians in gated communities treat them like kings and try to take guns away from law-abiding citizens.
It’s an upside down world. Bratton said they have gone “too far” and “growing crime” is a threat to normal people in his city and many others.
He’s absolutely correct, and speaking recently, Adams said he agrees with Bratton.

Adams: ‘Major Mistakes’ From the Left Need to be Called Out
Adams said trust needs to be “rebuilt” after “major mistakes” from the progressive left have gone too easy on crime.
The wrong way to do this is to continue to coddle criminals and let repeat offenders out on the streets.
Yes, Adams agrees some police actions have eroded trust on the streets, but he also directly confronted some of the biggest lies the left peddles to win elections.
The lies are basically that racism and police state brutality are the reason for crowded jails.
The obvious truth is the reason for crowded jails is there are too many damn criminals. Also, the solution is to keep locking them up until they stop terrorizing and robbing people.
Appeasing the mob has never worked, from ancient Rome until today. Adams faced that reality and is ready to get tough on crime like Bratton advises.
When will the rest of the left wake up, or is it already too late?
