North Carolina is one of the greatest states in America.
It’s led by a Democrat called Roy Cooper, however. It’s had an increasing number of shootings and crimes occurring in many of its large urban areas, such as Democrat-led Raleigh and Democrat-led Charlotte.
The spike in crime has also been very noticeable in the city of Fayetteville, North Carolina, which is led by Democrat Mitch Colvin. His job before becoming mayor of Fayetteville was as a mortician dealing with dead bodies.
Unfortunately, that’s become all too relevant in Fayetteville, which experienced a 50% increase in homicides last year and already had numerous murders in the first few months of this year.
Fayetteville has one of the highest crime rates in the entire United States. Here are some recent examples…
March 27 Shooting in Fayetteville
On March 27, police were called to a hotel in Fayetteville after someone shot into a car.
It turned out a man by the name of Dustin Goode discharged dozens of rounds at a 33-year-old young woman named April Gowin. They then got into the car and drove off together, with their argument apparently on hold.
Gowin was uninjured, miraculously, when the two were found later that day trying to tape up the holes from the gunfire. They both had numerous criminal charges in their records and were taken into custody. Just another day in Fayetteville…
Earlier in the week, three individuals were brutally gunned down at another Fayetteville hotel, the Baymont Ramada. Cops responded and found five people bleeding out on the pavement, two of whom were saved.
Police asked people to let them know if they had any more information, but with so many shootings every week going on in Fayetteville, it’s just a blip on the radar, as is the bizarre Gowin and Goode saga.

Facing the Facts in Fayetteville
The truth is that Fayetteville isn’t alone. It’s not just big cities like New York, Philadelphia, Austin, and LA that have had huge crime surges. It’s also mid-sized cities like Fayetteville, which has a population of around 200,000.
Since 2020, the city has seen a rise in violent crimes, included armed robbery and assaults. There were 48 murders in 2021 alone and 1,144 cases of assault.
The fact is we’ve seen violent crime rise across the nation, and anyone who is not worried about it should be worried about it.
Nobody should have to be worried about getting carjacked on their way back from work or shot up in the parking lot of a Ramada because they parked for a minute to check a map or sip a coffee.

The Bottom Line
Violent crime is 150% higher in Fayetteville than it is in the rest of North Carolina.
The response has to be strong and swift. One thing is for certain: soft-on-crime is not going to cut it!
