Culper Precision is a well-known and high-quality US gun manufacturer. However, their latest firearm is causing a stir. The reason is that the new model Glock, called the Block19, is designed to look like a big piece of Lego.
According to Culper, this gun was done to show the “pure enjoyment” of guns and firing them. Unfortunately, though, Lego – which is based in the nation of Denmark in Europe – has sent a legal letter to Culper.
This letter demands that they stop producing this weapon. They say it could be dangerous and be mistaken for a toy by kids.
A real gun—designed by a US gun company—that looks like a Lego toy.
Bad idea.
Bad idea.

Cease and Desist Letter for Culper
Culper got the cease and desist letter from Lego, partly due to the activism of the Everytown gun control group and its member, Shannon Watts.
Watts said that Utah-based Culper Precision is irresponsible for making this design; they also claim that it can cause kids to think the gun is a toy.
Culper responded by saying the Block19 was to show guns are for everybody and that the sport of shooting is something that can be “really enjoyable.” Despite the evil of gun control and its arguments, Watts is definitely correct here.
When you look at things like the shooting of the small boy Tamir Rice (who was out playing with a toy gun), you can see that kids playing with toy guns in public can be dangerous if police think they’re real.
If you add in a gun that looks like a toy, but isn’t a toy, it just adds a whole new level of confusion.
Culper Backs Down
The head of Culper Precision Brandon Scott said that despite still standing behind the product, his company has decided to not make them. The reason is the letter from Lego, which basically let them know they don’t have the right to use the design.
According to Scott, several dozen of the guns were sold before deciding to stop production. Scott emphasized that it’s up to gun owners to responsibly store their guns and keep them away from small kids. However, it looks like Lego’s threat was enough to make him back down.
Federal law prohibits toys from being manufactured to look like guns, but no law prohibits guns from being made to look like toys. The gun maker says it would be a customer’s fault, not his, if a kid was injured by his Lego gun because gun owners should lock up their guns.

What’s the Law on Toy Guns?
You are not allowed to make kid’s toys that look like a real gun; this is why cap guns and others usually have some kind of other color or tag on them.
However, there is no official law that bans you from making a real gun that looks like a toy. Still, we can see how this Lego gun could definitely have led to some issues, in my view. Last year 140 people died in gun related accidents.
What do readers think? Is Scott right and should this gun should have been allowed to go to mass production? Or, is Lego right and is this gun irresponsible and dangerous?
To make a real gun look like a toy is just plain stupid and irresponsible . I am whole heartedly for the 2nd amendment but this goes to far. The company that is making this type of guns shouldn’t be put out of business. it’s these kind of people who make it hard for law abiding citizens to have and enjoy a firearm sensibly .This type Irgun. is dangerous and it end up getting someone killed by mistaken identity.
