Kamala Harris has made it a key point of her campaign to enact stricter gun control should she be elected Vice President.
She wrote the following on her website: “We’re not waiting for good ideas – we have good ideas. We’re not waiting for another tragedy – we have seen the worst human tragedies we can imagine. What’s missing is politicians in Washington having the courage to stand up to the [National Rifle Association],”
Harris said that should she win, demand Congress send her a bill to tighten gun regulations within 100 days of her appointment.
Sen. Kamala Harris says if she is elected President, she will give Congress 100 days "to get their act together and have the courage to pass reasonable gun safety laws, and if they fail to do it, then I will take executive action" https://t.co/KFdn5Viqm1 #HarrisTownHall pic.twitter.com/Ds8DxObhAY

American University Radio compiled a list of actions Harris has advocated:
- Implementing universal background checks
- Banning semi-automatic rifles, or so-called assault weapons
- Repealing the NRA’s corporate gun manufacturer immunity shield, aka PLCAA
- The most comprehensive federal background checks in history
- Revoking the licenses of gun manufacturers that break the law
- Closing the “boyfriend loophole” to make it harder for domestic abusers to purchase guns
- Reversing President Donald Trump’s decision to allow fugitives from justice to purchase guns
- Banning the importation of AR-15 style assault weapons
- Criminalizing gun trafficking at the federal level
- Banning high-capacity magazines
- Prohibiting those convicted of a federal hate crime from buying guns
Bidens Pick of Kamala Harris as his running mate caused a stir among stakeholders in the gun industry with the NRA tweeting the following:
Biden Chooses 2nd Amendment-Hating @KamalaHarris as his VP
Harris's presidential campaign died soon after announcing extreme gun control agendas. Her plan was to ignore democratic processes & enact gun control by executive order.
Biden & Harris will dismantle the 2nd Amendment.

After the announcement that Harris would be Biden’s VP pick, the NRA wrote: “the 2020 Democratic ticket was already shaping up to be the most anti-Second amendment in history.”
According to snoops, Joe Biden has never called for the abolishment of the 2nd amendment but demands universal background checks and the reduction of accessibility of firearms.
“gun violence epidemic,” Biden outlines several policies on his website to reduce the accessibility of firearms, implement universal background checks on purchasers, and institute buy-back programs for assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. The plan also notes that new measures will “respect the Second Amendment, which is limited.”
Biden has made comments in the past that show he possibly does not understand the second amendment fully.
”I have a shotgun,” Biden said. “My son’s hunt.” He notably omitted any mention of the right to self-defense, which the Supreme Court has recognized as the Second Amendment’s “central component,” or of handguns, which the justices described as the “quintessential self-defense weapon.”
In explaining his plan to ban “high-capacity magazines,” Biden also talks about hunting. “Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun,” his campaign says. “That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children.” The Chicago Sun-Times reported.
The CST reported that “The three-round limit suggested by that non-sequitur would be unconstitutional, effectively banning all semi-automatic firearms and revolvers. But judging from an expired federal law that Biden supported, he would be more generous, allowing magazines with capacities up to 10 rounds — the same as the limit set by California, which made it a crime to manufacture, transfer, or even possess “large-capacity magazines.”
“As the 9th Circuit noted, that law covered half of the magazines owned by Americans — 115 million out of 230 million, according to one estimate. Large-capacity magazines come standard with some of the most popular firearms sold in the United States, including “Glocks, Berettas, and other handguns that are staples of self-defense.”
