The roller delayed blowback design in general is becoming more and more popular as time goes on, with the recent releases of several G3 and CETME style platforms that can be had for under $1000. The parts for modifications and magazines are often inexpensive and readily available in places that sell surplus gear. Magazines can often be found for about $5 a pop, and furniture sets for about $20-$30. This surge in popularity, for obvious reasons, has caused a surge in the aftermarket department as well, which has only resulted in more sales and interest in these platforms.
For myself, I found it very easy to modify my PTR91 rifle in a way that made it a good overall platform that could function as a solid fighting rifle in .308, yet also serve as a DMR or long range sniping rifle. With the proper combination of modifications, you can customize this rifle platform into anything you need it to be. Why not invest in one?
