Simunition: Training Solutions

Simunition: Training Solutions - TheArmsGuide.com

April 22, 2017 by Kevin 3 Comments

Here at The Arms Guide, we’re a big proponent of firearms training. But how do you go about getting that training to become more proficient with handling your guns? There are several ways to go about it, but the training means that I want to discuss in specific has to do with supplementing your live fire exercises. Simunition, in particular, is one company that offers a number of training solutions for law enforcement, military, and civilians.

Simunition chiefly produces products that allow individuals (namely LEO and military) to convert their existing firearms, usually via a slide and barrel change, to use non-lethal marking rounds (this conversion prevents the firearms from being compatible with live/commercial ammunition). This allows them to safely train with their regular gear, whether handgun, shotgun, or rifle, in force on force or force on target scenarios.

I mentioned that these technologies are chiefly marketed to military and law enforcement agencies; however, Simunition also has a civilian range program (in the U.S.). By checking out their site, non-military/LEO shooters can see a list of certified Simunition instructors. Those who enroll in these programs would have access to the same training technology open to military and LEO personnel.

How do you feel about training with Simunition?

Simunitions are the very best force on force training.  Not only do you get to use (in many cases) your actual firearm, but the pain penalty is high enough that people don’t just wail away on each other like they tend to do with airsoft.

I think it’s a great option. Especially considering you can make a proper training without using live ammo.

How do I feel? Just dandy after getting shot in the throat! These things are good for innoculation and realism in force on force.
