Daniel Defense AR: DDM4 V9

New Daniel Defense AR: DDM4 V9 - TheArmsGuide.com

May 19, 2017 by Kevin 2 Comments

The star of the Daniel Defense popular AR-15 lineup is the DDM4 V9.

Fans of the V5 will find a lot to like in the DDM4 V9. Both rifles are chambered for 5.56×45, feature 16in cold hammer forged, chrome moly vanadium steel government profile barrels (tipped with Daniel Defense flash suppressors), and use low profile, pinned mid-length direct impingement gas blocks.

The V9 builds off of its predecessor with extended the handguard from the V5’s 12in handguard out to 15 inches. The V9 also makes use of Daniel Defense’s newly designed ergonomic telescoping buttstock, pistol grip, and vertical foregrip. These new components are glass-filled polymer with “Soft Touch” overmolding for enhanced grip surface.

The DDM4 V9 will be offered in three different configurations: the V9, V9 LW, and V9 S2W. The MSRP for each is the same, but each model uses a different style barrel. The standard V9 utilizes a 16 inch government profile barrel, while the V9 Light Weight features a slimmer 16 inch “pencil profile” barrel. The V9 Strength to Weight uses a government profile barrel, but extends 18 inches.

I have the V5 and love it. I don’t find myself ever wanting a longer rail though. I would love to own me one of those ISR’s though 😉 Stupid Illinois finds those uber quiet black rifles scary and illegal though, because we all know they can’t be heard at all like in the movies hahaha

Barnes  I was wondering about that… If I had the V5, I don’t know that I’d be compelled to upgrade. But, perhaps those who were considering the V5 and saw the longer rail may opt for the V9. I have the V7, currently, and I’m pretty pleased :]
Also… lol re: “…uber quiet black rifles scary and illegal” Not gonna lie, I’m quite content to pass on that silliness by living northward.
