With a break in the snowy weather, I thought it was the perfect time for a range day, and the perfect opportunity to begin test and eval on a new rifle: the KVD-15 Alef. Kavod Customs sells three different models: the Alef, Bet, and Gimel. Here are some of the specs on the KVD-15 Alef:
- Kavod flattop upper and lower
- A2 flash hider
- 16″ fluted barrel, 1:7 twist
- Magpul MOE fixed stock (A2 length)
- Hogue rubberized grip
- 2 stage trigger
- BCM Enhanced Mod 3 charging handle
- M16 mil-spec BCG, nickel boron coated
So far, I’ve put about 250 rounds through it and it handled them with ease. I’ve yet to experience a snag or hiccup of any kind. The KVD-15 Alef ships with two 30 round PMAGs, which fed just fine with them. The rifle doesn’t typically ship with sights, but for review purposes, Vidalia Police Supply, sent the KVD-15 Alef to me with Troy Folding Battle Sights (my own AR has Troy [fixed] battle sights, so I’m already familiar with them). As far as fit and finish goes, the KVD-15 performed as I would expect from a high quality AR-15 style rifle. The action is smooth and, thus far, it has fed reliably, as you can see from the video above.
Stay tuned for the full review, coming soon!
Looks like a nice firearm, I wonder if its NJ friendly, I think the only issue would how the FH is fixed to the barrel. Looks like fun to shoot in the snow, although I dont know about lying in the snow.
peter3101haha well, with the mat, it really wasn’t bad. I had fun! I’m looking forward to putting this rifle (and the popper) through their paces some more.
Great video and shooting. As always, you’re a too funny and cute girl. Love the end.
FateofDestinee peter3101 Oh forgot about the popper, took me a wee while to work out what you were saying. Shooting steel rocks, love the sound, wish they would make them head sized and shaped to add to the fun, be like shooting a sniper or an enemy soldier.
