Fernández Flips Out At US Gun Rights
my latest for Al Jazeera: "The US goes ballistic: America’s gun epidemic" https://t.co/EFUxVUNG29 @AJEnglish
— Belén Fernández (@MariaBelen_Fdez) May 8, 2022
Fernández’s Silly Article
The article then goes on to talk about mass shootings that have taken place across the US in the past year, including the attempted mass shooting in Brooklyn on April 12.
Fernández forgets to mention that the suspect in the Brooklyn subway attack was a far-left black racist. He had been incited to violence by the lies and hate of the liberal media, including the disgusting lie that police are white supremacists who go around trying to kill unarmed black people.
She mentions the 45,222 deaths from guns in 2020, of which 54% were suicides, as proof that gun rights kill people. She said America’s “casual attitude” about guns is leading to an epidemic of murder.
President Trump's goal in life is to turn the US itself into one giant fortified gun vault https://t.co/zspCP9Ljni — #AJOpinion, by Belen Fernandez pic.twitter.com/F7Q9E65r2l

Why She’s Wrong
The reason Fernandez is wrong is really quite simple: the US is free, Cuba’s not. That may sound like no big deal, but try taking away all your freedom and see how that goes.
Furthermore, the US invents new technologies, leads the world in our economy, and has a way of life that’s far better than the half-starved, internet-lacking nation of Cuba.
Try criticizing the president of the US here at home and then go down to Cuba and criticize their president. See what happens.
As for gun violence: this is caused by criminals, not guns.
