California used to be the embodiment of the American dream. Now, it’s the American nightmare.
Nowhere is that more true than in the gritty city of Los Angeles. The Democrat-led metropolis is a dangerous place to be, particularly if you have money and don’t want to be robbed, assaulted, raped or scammed.
With such a chaotic situation, you’d figure LA needs stronger gun laws and boundaries to stop criminals acting out. However, here’s the problem: LA already has extremely strict gun control laws.
It’s made things much worse.
LA’s Gun Control Disaster
California, as a whole, is known as the toughest state in the union for gun control.
New York runs a close second, but nowhere quite compares to the heavily-leftist and gun-shy state. California absolutely has 2A supporters, but their voices have been drowned out by Democrat-dominated municipalities and legislative action.
Nowhere is that more true than in LA; the city has experienced a stunning 57% jump in armed theft since 2020. During this same period, you can see how law-abiding citizens had their gun rights stripped away.
The list of moves against lawful gun owners is long, including blocking the ability to privately sell weapons, banning “assault” rifles, lowering the maximum mag size allowed, putting through all sorts of red flag bans, and increasing laws around how to store your gun and when.
There’s also a long wait of almost two-weeks to get your background check approved for buying a weapon or buying ammo. This has all made life a little harder for gun owners, and a lot easier for armed criminals.

Outlaws Don’t Follow the Law
As conservatives and 2A supporters have been pointing out now for decades, if you outlaw guns, then only outlaws will have guns. It sounds simplistic, but it’s absolutely true.
LA is the perfect example. They have made it as hard as possible for legal gun owners to exercise their rights, but this has just resulted in mountains of guns and ammo being in the hands of killers and thugs.
California is a terrible state to be a gun owner, especially if you have a conceal carry permit, which takes forever to get. However, if you’re a criminal, you go to a street corner somewhere and shell out cash you made from drugs. Then, you go cause mayhem.
Next, a liberal politician makes excuses for you about your hard childhood and you’re out on bail the next day after paying $0 because you’re poor. This is the liberal dream; this is the American nightmare.

Be Careful in LA
LA’s head of police, Michael Moore (not the filmmaker), says that people who are wearing nice jewelry and out shopping or getting gas need to be very careful.
Armed robberies are increasing rapidly, and almost nobody is conceal carrying to protect themselves. Welcome to LA.
