When most of us go through a drive-thru, the main thing we’re expecting to hear is “do you want fries with that?”
However, a recent customer at a Burger King location in Miami got gunshots instead. Here’s what happened…
Have It Your Way?
Burger King worker Shateasha Hicks was having a pretty bad day on the job when she started out a new position at Burger King last week in Miami.
I guess the stress of the pandemic got to everybody because Hicks was not in the mood when a customer started being rude to her in the drive-thru.
According to witnesses, a customer started arguing with her about his order and making faces at her. He then got angry and threw packs of mayonnaise at Hicks in the drive-thru window. The customer later started driving away.
Hicks was extremely angry about the altercation and went out to her car. She grabbed a handgun she had in her glovebox and popped off a number of rounds at the individual’s car as they drove away.
Police immediately came to investigate shots fired, but Hicks had already driven her car near to where she lived and ran away.

Police Find Hicks
The day after the gunshot incident, police found Hicks at her home. They arrested her for shooting a weapon in public. The customer was unharmed and got away fine.
Many people are alarmed by what happened, but Hicks’ relatives, such as her aunt, said she “doesn’t blame” her niece for getting angry at a disrespectful customer and shooting at their car.
More details that came out about what happened say Hicks is now out of jail, temporarily on bond.
Hicks is definitely looking at some real trouble. She just randomly fired off her gun at somebody’s car for pissing her off. That’s not legal in America, and it certainly doesn’t fall under 2A protections or under the legal use of deadly force in self defense.

Blasting Rounds at Burger King
Hicks is far from the first person to be involved in a shooting at Burger King. The chain and other fast-food restaurants are getting quite a reputation for shoot-ups and for armed incidents.
A Burger King worker was tragically killed earlier this year in New York during a stickup, while another was killed a few weeks later during another robbery in Milwaukee.
In the Milwaukee case, cops say the worker actually staged the break-in, but it went wrong and she died.
In another case in Wisconsin, two sisters got angry in a Burger King and shot a server in the face. They’re now facing murder charges. Maybe Burger King employees should get danger pay from now on.
Stay safe out there.
