The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) is a very important institution.
As a crucial branch of our federal government, SCOTUS rules on the law of the land when questions come up about what is constitutional or not.
This is especially true on gun rights, where many key matters are litigated in front of our justices. Most recently, SCOTUS made a very important ruling on the Armed Career Criminal Act.
What is the Armed Career Criminal Act?
The Career Criminal Act basically provides harsher penalties for repeat offenders who use weapons.
However, on Monday, SCOTUS basically chopped part of this law away. They said a man who robbed ten storage facilities only could be convicted of robbing one. He, therefore, was not classed as a career criminal and couldn’t be hit with a longer penalty for being a repeat armed criminal.
For this reason, the repeat armed offender in question got two years in jail, instead of the 16 he would have picked up under the Career Criminal Act.
Writing on her decision, liberal Justice Elena Kagan said because the man did many crimes, but was arrested once for all of them, they don’t count as repeat offenses; he can’t be hit with additional ACCA penalties.
The basic point here is armed criminals who do a flurry of crimes all at once will get off much easier.
Today's only SCOTUS opinion is another fractured mess thanks to the Armed Career Criminal Act. Bottom line is that the justices hold that a burglar breaking into ten storage units counts as only one crime, not ten, under the ACCA, and so account for only one conviction.

What Are the Consequences of This Ruling?
This SCOTUS ruling is more soft-on-crime silliness.
People who would be punished more strongly are now looking at smaller sentences when they use weapons in multiple crimes, such as robbery or rape.
They would still be hit with multiple counts, of course, but they wouldn’t be counted as different crimes under ACCA or lead to much harsher penalties for repeat armed offenses.
Even if crimes are different in the span of one day or one crime spree, Kagan insisted they’re one event.
It’s truly staggering why the liberal left wants to go easy on criminals like this. What exactly is the end goal? Kagan is on SCOTUS for life, so she doesn’t need to pander for votes.
Why do liberals like her want to take legal guns away from Americans, while letting armed criminals have smaller sentences for their heinous crimes? It’s outrageous.

The Bottom Line
The bottom line is our Founding Fathers would turn over in their graves if they knew the kind of outrages that are being perpetrated in this country by our highest courts. They disrespect the Constitution every day with the kind of decisions they make.
Our media is also to blame, with its endless dramatizations of gun violence and using this to try to take guns away from law-abiding Americans.
Washington state, for example, is all set to ban magazines that hold over 10 rounds. This is America today, a country where armed criminals get a break, but armed Americans get their homes broken into and have their guns taken away.
