The left has a philosophy when it comes to crime: don’t ask, don’t tell.
They may not like DADT when it came to remaining closeted in the military, but they love it when it comes to crime.
Legislators across the country, along with activist judges, have put in place low bail laws and done their best to lessen punishment for gun crimes.
They also marched in the streets to demand the defunding of the police who keep us safe, reinforcing a bizarre narrative that blames all police for the misbehavior of a tiny minority of police.
Now, we are reaping the whirlwind. The latest? Five cops shot in the last four days in New York City.
What Happened?
A criminal shot an NYPD officer dead with a stolen gun on Friday night in Harlem.
Jason Rivera of the NYPD was only 22 and trying to do his job; he was shot down brutally by a criminal named Lashawn J. McNeil.
This criminal did his dirty work with an illegal firearm as Rivera’s partner, Wilbert Mora, 27, was badly shot and in critical condition.
The two went to try and deal with a domestic situation in Harlem that they were called to when the suspect started shooting.
He was taken down and is also in critical condition, but not before wounding Mora badly and taking Rivera’s life.
Mayor Eric Adams said this attack wasn’t just an individual assault on NYPD officers; it was an assault on the whole city of New York.
He’s correct. This kind of crime turns a city from a good place to live into a lawless ghost town, and New York is already well on its way…

A Spate of Police Shootings
The murder of Rivera and wounding of his partner were only two of five cops shot in the past four days in NYC.
That’s not all; we saw a Columbia graduate student brutally murdered, an innocent fast food worker mowed down, an Asian subway rider and Asian scavenger heartlessly murdered, and a small infant killed.
The shooter of Rivera reportedly used a Glock 45 with an extended magazine capable of carrying 40 extra rounds. It was stolen from the lawless city of Baltimore, which is in its own horrific crime wave.
The blue cities of Baltimore and New York have both been trying out a policy of soft on crime and low bail, along with other horror show cities like San Francisco, Austin, and Philadelphia.
The basic idea is since there are a lot of black criminals in jail, it means this is racist. Therefore, the only way to stop being racist is to let them out.
The black criminal who killed Rivera, Lashawn McNeil, had a long rap sheet, including a past arrest for allegedly having an illegal gun and for attacking a cop in Pennsylvania in 2002.
These criminal coddling, racist policies are getting a lot of people killed, including this brave officer.
