The idea of smart guns is all the rage on the left and among the gun control lobby. The reason is simple; it’s a high-tech way to ensure only specifically-approved people can fire a weapon.
It would also supposedly stop dangerous accidents, such as when kids get ahold of their parents’ weapons and fire them, or when criminals buy black market guns and use them illegally.
Smart guns that read your fingerprint and only fire for the registered owner would avoid all the tragedy, we are told.
Here’s the issue…
The Problem With ‘Smart Guns’
The concept and technology of smart guns have existed for a long time ago. So far, these weapons have turned out to be undependable, full of glitches, and very dangerous.
However, that hasn’t stopped the idea from being hyped up on the left, as new types of smart guns are developed that open with digital IDs and fingerprints. The Reuters news agency is the latest to report on a new type of smart gun coming to the US, supposedly with the potential to end the whole debate around gun control.
There are already many safety programs to stop accidental gun incidents; meanwhile, these smart guns need your finger to be very clean and not have water or moisture in order to unlock the gun.
As smart guns are set to break on the US market and become legal for the first time, the media is of course excited as can be.
They aren’t here yet, but companies like SmartGunz are very excited about it. Others like LodeStar say they’re very close to unveiling their new guns.

This is Not Good
Companies like Lodestar tried to unload awfully made guns like the Armatix before and there’s no reason we should trust them this time around. They claim we are on the cusp of a new golden age, but here’s something to consider…
Even if smart guns are eventually developed, which don’t have glitches and work well for users, how is this not a risk to our freedoms?
The government or powerful corporations could then make sure only authorized people can own guns. They could also take guns away from those who have the wrong political opinions or who don’t have the right vaccines, religious beliefs, and so on…
It could easily become just another backdoor method for the left to unleash a big government totalitarian vision on us all and take away the right to own normal guns that run on physical technology.
>house gets broken in
>use my fingerprint scanner gunsafe to get my trusty smart gun
>bit of mustard on my thumb from dinner, safe takes 3 tries to open
>alert intruders i am armed
>attempt to fire warning shot, nothing, stood to close to the fridge?
>get shot by a glock from 83 https://t.co/EVnLVA2ZOY— JoeLongBalls (@JoeLongBalls) January 11, 2022
The Bottom Line
If smart guns are actually made safe and reliable, then they can be rolled out as one option for personal protection and weapon ownership.
However, to make them the only choice or start cutting into regular gun rights because of them would be a huge mistake.
