New Jersey is one of the bluest states in the nation and its Governor Phil Murphy is currently trying to push through a number of harsh gun control policies.
However, breaking news out of the Garden State shows just how bad the criminal problem is in the state and why guns are not the cause of it.
Here’s what happened…
New Jersey Man in a Backhoe Goes on a Rampage
This story comes out of Vineland, New Jersey, which is about an hour’s drive from Atlantic City. A problem occurred in one of Vineland’s trailer parks when a man got out of control and went on a rampage in the early morning of Saturday.
He then got ahold of a nearby backhoe by stealing it. He began chasing police squad cars, flipping one over as neighbors looked on in disbelief. Various officers got injured as the incident unfolded.
The man was shot dead at the scene in the showdown.

Video Shows Conflict
A video from neighbor Aida Morales shows the man flipping over the police car and then driving after another car. It also flipped over an ambulance. She said this looked like something from a Hollywood film and shocked her.
As Morales commented, something like this makes you think about why the individual in the backhoe “snapped.” It’s unknown what caused the man to get angry, but what’s clear is that he’s now dead.
An officer opened fire on him and killed him while he was trying to crush and kill everyone. The backhoe driver’s identity has not been released and the incident is still under investigation.

Let’s Do the Math
Let’s do the math on this crime. An unarmed man in a backhoe started crushing cars and trying to kill people; an armed police officer stopped him.
Whatever you think of the police, looking just at the outer situation, we can see something very basic and important: the danger here came from someone without a gun, and the end of the danger came from someone with a gun.
Situations like this are always tragic and it would be preferable if none of it had ever happened. Yet, the bottom line is that Murphy’s mad drive to get rid of guns in the Garden State is very ill-founded. Guns are not the problem, criminals are the problem.
We have to make sure we don’t let Democrat logic take over our country, and as states like New Jersey fall prey to the left, we are in great danger. That’s because criminals don’t need guns to cause damage, just bad intentions and whatever tools are at hand.
A car or a baseball bat can cause a lot of damage: even a construction tool like a backhoe can hurt people, as this story shows!
