One of the things that caught my eye at the WWII reenactment I attended last year was this lovely MG 34.

I’ll admit it – I’m a big nerd. I love history. One historical period that especially fascinates me is the the World War II era, to the point that I get excited to go to WWII reenactments. In the one during which this photo was snapped, I was fortunate enough to get a few cool pictures with some of the equipment and arms from the time period, including beautiful battle-worn MG 34. I only got to pose with it, but one day I’d love to put a few rounds through an operational model.

Back when you could still get them, I had my eye on a TNW MG-34. I balked at the price back then, but now I’m kinda wishing I would have stomached it and gotten one. They are just. so. cool.

FateofDestinee NateGranzow The Germans had some serious stuff.  Fortunately a lot of it didn’t see much action since it came late in the war.

CK5150 FateofDestinee NateGranzow Agreed. Though the one above was designed and implemented long before WWII (1934).

NateGranzow CK5150 FateofDestinee -I was thinking more in line with the STG 44 and the jet fighters/bombers i.e. the ME262.  I think both were introduced in 1944.

I love old guns, old colts and Springfields you wonder who’s held them and what stories they could tell. I have drilled and used a martini Henry it was a heavy lump but loved the historical aspect of it, we also got our hands on mark 3’s

peter3101 I’ve been wanting an old Martini Henry in a bad way for a long time. Same goes for the Enfield Mk III. One of these days…

Hitler’s Zipper would be a blast to use, as long as you someone else buys & carries the ammo, RoF way too high!

I too am a big-time history buff with a true appreciation for the WWII generation which included my Father @Normandy (Utah  Beach to be precise). Thank goodness that their are tons of WWII related books, docs, movies  etc. which keep the memory alive for the current generation. Just found this site and look forward to exploring.

A friend of mine has one of these – working and full auto. I’d be glad to set you up with it at my local range if you’re ever in Maine. Just PM me with this name on youtube if you think you’ll be coming east someday.
