A Girl & A Gun (AG & AG) announces that Andrea Kennedy is the winner of a Colt Competition CRX-16 rifle, which was presented at 3-Gun University on March 19, 2017. The A Girl & A Gun event, which took place at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, offered 2 days of training sessions on pistol, shotgun, and rifle with competitors running a 4-stage match on the third day to put their new skills to the test. Competitors were able to go to the prize table in random order. Andrea, who is Active Duty in the Michigan Army National Guard, was the lucky participant drawn to go first.

The beautiful Colt Competition CRX-16 rifle was the top prize of the event. It features a 1:7 Twist 16″CRMO barrel, 15″free-floated handguard, and 6 lb Colt match target trigger. It is striking with “Crimson Red” cerakote and Hogue overmolded stock and grip.

Andrea, who serves as an Operations Officer specializing in Weapons of Mass Destruction and Hazardous Material incident response, credits the military with providing her first experiences shooting pistol and rifle. Although she developed an interest in shooting sports, she did not pursue her passion until recently. She attended A Girl & A Gun’s 3GU to learn about 3 gun and to gain new pistol, rifle, and shotgun skills.

She says, “3GU was an amazing experience, where I was able to ask questions and learn from some of the most amazing women shooters in the sport. Rifle is my preferred discipline, so winning the Colt Competition CRX was absolutely amazing! I will forever be grateful to 3GU for the knowledge gained, the match experience, and of course – all the awesome prizes. My warmest thank you goes out to A Girl & A Gun, 3 Gun University, Colt Competition, and all the other incredible sponsors!”
