M+M M10X – Rifle of the Future – SHOT Show

I had the pleasure of meeting with the fine gentlemen of M+M industries this afternoon to see the M+M M10x. The guys at M+M allowed me to ask about a hundred questions, take a few photos and even some poorly shot video. They gave me the rundown on their M10X.

The M+M M10X

The M10X is a 7.62x39mm rifle that feeds from AK mags. From the outset, it’s easy to assume it’s just an AK knock off that’s been kitted up to look modern. That was my mistake and after talking us with the gents at M+M the M10x is a completely different rifle. It’s been designed to incorporate features from the FN FAL, the AK 47, and the AR 15. These three battle rifles are some of the most prolific in the world.

The goal of the M+M M10X was to minimize the necessary parts to make a rifle functions. As you can see the M10X has even fewer parts than the classic AK 47, a weapon already known for its simplicity.

The Parts in an AK 47

The M10X has an ambidextrous safety that’s AR 15 style. Two positions, as predictable as you’d imagine. The charging handle can be swapped to the left or right-hand side, somewhat like the SIG XI series of rifles. The charging handle is easy to manipulate and intuitive.

The weapon comes equipped with the Magpul Zhukov stock, but other options will be available soon. I was sworn to secrecy about certain aspects of the future of the M10X but M+M did make the rifle to be easily adjustable and adaptable to a variety of different situations.

Simplicity Rules

Speaking of simplicity the M10X was built to be easily taken apart. So much so the end user can swap the barrel with nothing more than a vise and a wrench. Everything in the weapon is designed to be easily taken apart and if you can build an AR you can take the M+M M10X apart.

The weapon can achieve a 1.2 MOA on average with quality ammo, and it opens a bit up with that cheaper steel ammo we all shoot. The weapon is scope ready and has an adjustable piston to help with running a suppressor. Overall the M10X is easily one of the more innovative and original designs I’ve seen at SHOT show this year. If you get a chance, check them out here.
