Getting married brought with it a number of changes. I was not a jewelry guy, I never wore a ring and never thought I was going to wear a ring. That’s not an option any more, single guys won’t get it, but this wasn’t a battle I was going to win. Another big change came with the amount of money I was able to spend on my firearms
hobby addiction. My wife doesn’t understand how Cerakote not only protects my investments, but looks awesome. She also thinks spending $150.00 to get a paint job on a rifle is a bit excessive.
You know what she didn’t think was excessive? Spending $174.95 on a wedding ring. So here’s how I kept my wife happy, satisfied my addiction, and protected my firearms investments:
I headed over to Amazon.com where high quality Tungsten* rings are available for about $14.95. Then, I took my favorite black rifle over to the guys at Gunfighter Tactical. Brian over at Gunfighter is a real artist when it comes to Cerekote. You can check out his Instgram here. Gunfighter charges $150.00 for the “big three,” upper, lower, rail. I paid an extra $10.00 to get Brian to paint the ring. So there you have it, $174.95 for a FDE wedding ring which is a perfect match to my new FDE rifle.
*A buddy told me that tungsten is so hard that if you break your finger/injure your hand it’s next to impossible to cut off – ER Docs or Medics, can you confirm in the comments? When I’m doing rope work, rough duty stuff I don’t wear a ring or wear a cheap silicon ring.
