Legal Carry at Levi’s Strauss Not Allowed ?

Beside Some Favorites

December 3, 2016 by Rick Dembroski Leave a Comment

Legal Carry at Levi Strauss Not Allowed ? Is that a true headline in the news today ? Unfortunately it is a real headline, and is causing a ripple effect in the shooting community. A brand once thought to be synonymous with the frontier spirit of the old west and freedom has somehow turned into the brand of latte sipping hipsters and beanie hats and Levi’s brand skinny jeans.

The “request” rather than a mandate from the corporate headquarters was made because of a reported recent negligent discharge of a firearm by a customer in one of their stores in Georgia. The customer who ultimately ended up accidentally shooting himself was the only one injured in the incident but in true corporate overlord one size fits all nanny state style Levi Strauss Chief Operating Officer Chip Bergh decided something had to be done to stem this apparent epidemic. (SARCASM)

Chip Bergh tried in vain to tie this one isolated incident to terrorist attacks in the French cities of Nice, and Paris, as well as the shooting at an Orlando Florida, nightclub in June 2016. The fact that no firearms were used in the Nice, France attack where an Islamic terrorist drove a moving van into a crowd of people killing 84 and injuring many more. These facts seemed not to phase the CEO of Levi Straus & Co who said ” You don’t need a gun to try on a pair of jeans”, but to those of us who legally carry a conceal pistol for self defense we have to respectfully disagree with Chip Bergh.
